Working out

I always find that my morning workouts, while difficult make me feel better. That’s saying something because I don’t have coffee until after the workout. Going back to yesterdays post about commitment, this is one of mine. Using the method I described yesterday I have been able to workout consistently for 159 consecutive days. Prior to the written commitment my workout routines were sporadic at best. This method really does work.

So what do I define as the minimum viable workout? A guided stretching routine is my minimum. This MVP allows for days when doing the full workout isn’t a viable option. There will be days when I don’t get in the stretching until later in the day, but it still counts. My full workout routine involves stretching, body weight strength training and a 2-3 mile walk through our hilly neighbourhood. This has been working well for me.

What’s your favourite workout routine?
